The City of Montridge

[idyllian]

"None of my business well I beg your pardon but you made it my business by bringing it up. Loose lips sink ships." he said twitling a lock of hia hair around his finger for a moment looking around at all of them.

~Don't do it!~

~Shut up you wretched brat I wasn't going to use that. Not yet anyway.~

He shifted the weight on his feet casting an elongated shaodw for a moment before it faded and he turned back to Auna smirking only slightly before running a hand through his hair looking down at his feet.

~So that's what your planning, clever little snot you are. ~ he thought watching the shadow receed across the ground but not before comming to touch Auna's shadow and breaking off from there leaving no trace of the ground it had just covered condensing and creating a slight ribbion before slipping into her shoe quietly.

~Why is he watching me?[/i~ Auna thought accusingly, feeling only a slight chill she felt something about her change. But she wasn't completely sure what the hell just happened. She looked up at the man and then at the rest of them.

"We still need to look for the stones before it is too late." Auna said in a quiet tone," Will you be so kind to join us, this time?" She asked enunciating 'this time.' ~nosy bastard~.

Darius smiled "I would be delighted to help you." he said with flashing another look her her direction.

~Hiding behind a girl, coward.~
"There's no need to get testy now Miss." he added frowning and thinkg about killing the girl on the spot.

"Give me one good reason not to, sir." Auna said with a stiff glare. She looked about and sighed inwardly, all they needed was one stone. Just one stone and they would be safe for another hundred years.

Jade didn't really pay attention to what was happening behind her. She was busy concentrating on building up her magic so that she could begin repairing the cave. Soon her hair started to rise up and a light green glow enveloped her and went into the ple of rubble that was the cave.

Merrin sighed. "Of course you don't know about the Green Dragon. You're too respectable. It's in the shady part of town, where the shady kind of people are." He noticed the tension growing between Auna and Darius. He figured that they should intervene. But he didn't really want to. He'd rather lose a home than a life. Even if he did have seven left.

Mordair seemed to be thinking the same thing. But the brothers looked at each other and then moved closer to the ruined cave. Now that they were there, they might as well help.

Jun stood there, transfixed, watching what Jade was doing. She had never seen her friend to that before. As she sensed the nekos come closer, she turned and raised her sword. "Not another step." she said. "I won't have you ruining this cave again."

"Relax, kitten." Mordair smirked as Jun frowned at the pet name. "We've done enough for one day. We decided we'd help out a bit. Or, as much as you'd let us."

[Kyuu]

Jade was surprised at their willingness to help. She looked sideways at them and started sucking out some of their energy and used it to make the repair faster.

“Oh just skip the formalities, there just a waste of time anyway besides don’t we have a stone to find?” he added with a glare straining right into her eyes with a lifeless gaze. If that idiotic shadow was able to talk with any of them then his little charade would be done for, of course that is unless he killed it first. That was always an option.

"Um, whoa. What's with the energy sucky thingy?" Merrin murmured. "I feel all weak..." The twins slumped to the ground. They had used up so much energy in their little fight that they didn't have very much left.

"I am sorry, I was not aware of the 'shady side' of town." Auna said to the neko, annoyed, " There never used to be." Time has really done a number on the town. She hadn't actually been paying attention with its proceedings, only checking on the barrier every now and then. She mostly spent her time on the mountain, or helping Lana protect the model.

"Yes, we do need to find the stone." Auna said in the same perplexed voice, she ran a hand across her sweatless brow and let out a breath," We need to find it as soon as possible." She added, hoping to get the search going again.

"Shows how old you are." Merrin grinned, leaning back against his brother. Having the energy drained out of him was exhausting. "It's been around for a pretty long while. Since Toady's 'golden old days.' when he was young."

"And besides," Mordair muttered. "How are we supposed to find a stone anyway? Aren't they lost or something?"

"That's why we're looking for them, dimwit." Jun snapped. She really couldn't stand these two.

Jade was almost done repairing the base of the cave, it'd take more time then they had at the moment to completely repair it.

After she had finished, she sat down and glared at the boys; once she finished completely, she'd have to sleep for a week to regain her energy completely.

"Yes I guess it does." Auna said with an eye roll. She had been here very long, she was probably one of the only ones who were there when the town was created, along with the other ones.

"The stones send out a magical pulse that can be found when you sense for them. And we need as many as possible. As soon as possible." She added.

Merrin held up his hands, defensively, at Jade's accusing glare. "Hey, sorry, we didn't know it'd do that much damage. It was sort of a test run. If you need it, we have a few energy-filled lives to spare." Mordair gave him a look and Merrin elbowed him. They knew very well that their energy was sort of tainted. It'd just be sabotage. And that was always fun. But they had the sense to keep that to themselves.

"I know that you enery is tainted," Jade said in a accusing tone to match her stare, "And I filtered it before it got three inches from you."
