The wind was blowing gently, the crickets were singing their songs of loud insect-ness, and the train was just pulling up to the old 'abandoned' station in the middle of nowhere.
The train was four carts long with two engines and two passenger sections, carrying students for the new school year. Some new, some old.
All the stars were out tonight in this Full Moon, cloudless sky. The moon shined against the Atlantic Ocean and the ancient pine's and oak's of the Forests in Maine. Still untouched by mankind and its destructive means.
On the platform stood several coated figures, even in August in Maine a coat or jacket was a smart thing to have with you, and then just off and beside the platform were several horse drawn carriages eagerly awaiting to get a move on, because they had been standing their for an hour waiting for the train to arrive.
After a train stewardess walked to all the compartments, explaining that each student was to take their bags and go to a carriage that was not full and wait until everyone was ready to leave to go up to the Academy, that lies several more miles deeper in the forest of Norther Maine.
One such student, Mat, Case 748-B, sat with her forehead pressed against the cool glass, breathing with her mouth open so her breath crystallized on the glass a little bit around her face. Her long dark brown hair was pulled back into a regular ponytail, headphones in her ears with her ipod on, loud enough to drown out the noise, but not loud enough to be heard by other people.
She pressed pause when she felt the woman walk by. She knew what she was saying. Mat grabbed her three new bags and dragged one along behind her as she awkwardly hobbled down the tiny aisle to the outside with two bags in one hand.
~~~~~
Khetela, or Kida as everyone called her, jumped up happily from her seat as the stewardess passed along behind her. She zipped her long black and green jacket around her and pulled her hood up over her head and grabbed he stuff from the over head rack. Kida had her new bag and backpack in her hands and was the first person off of the train. The ride up to the school was almost the best part of going to LGA, in Kida's opinion anyway. She looked around with a small smile. It was good to be back at her home. Because with her father, she lived in a hotel for maybe a week then she was flying, then another hotel, and then flying. It was a never ending process.
But here, it was the same room, the same people, the same security everyday. And Kida absolutely loved it. She was almost sad she was allowed to go home that summer because she loved staying in one place so much.
She walked over to the closest carriage, after waving to the teachers that were lucky enough to be their escorts.
~~~~
See, the students that seemed safe enough, and had enough control of their powers got to go home for the months of June and July for a short summer break. But the students that could not control themselves had to stay at the school for further tutoring and help to be able to control their abilities.
((Okay, you can either be a student getting off of the train, a student that had to stay behind at the school, or a teacher that got stuck with being escorts.))

René stepped of the train, pushing his sunglasses further up his nose. He smirked lightly as he listened to the crickets show off for each other. "C'mon baby, I'm way better than him, just listen to my song!" René sighed and climbed into the carriage. He could hardly hear the crickets there. But he was glad to get to school. Mostly on account of his dad. He fingered his latest fading bruise. Maybe this year they wouldn't send him home. René was shaken out of his thoughts as a boy his age climbed in next to him. It was Jacob, one of the more arrogant Eighth Years. "Oh, yeah! It feels bloody great to be back here!"Jacob grinned and leaned back, stretching.

Ethan looked down at his watch then back over to the tracks again. He always knew that he needed more then two months to recuperate but no one ever really seemed to listen. Maybe he could try to get an extended leave of absence or something. It would be nice to be able to go somewhere without having to be on duty or something.
He had spent his entire summer running across the county as usual. He had been working with Bruce Wayne in the Australian Outback trying to find the last of the Lazarus Pit’s. So far the search had turned up nothing but the pit had to be out there somewhere.
So yes, Ethan had an interesting summer of course but it wasn’t really what he had in mind. He was hoping to go Parasailing in Bermuda and spend his days out on the beach. Nothing but sun, sand and sweat although he did a very nice tan so he really didn’t have anything to complain about and he eventually found some time to go Parasailing paid for by Bruce of course. That man sure had the money to throw around.
And now he was back, and currently standing next to a carriage waiting from the students to get down off the train.
Vincent contrary to popular belief had indeed gone home this summer and he had stayed away from computer’s telephones or any other wireless devices for most of the entire summer. It wasn’t that hard when your Aunt lived in the backwoods and didn’t know the difference between RAM and ROM to saver her life, but it was nice not to have any headaches for three weeks.
Of course once he was back home in Japan the bottle of Advil never left his sight. It felt like he had his head pressed against a loud speaker baling heavy metal for the remainder of the summer. He had spent it helping his father with a few things for work here and there between working on his laptop. He had worked a lot of bugs in the program over the summer, but he still had a long way to go before he could transport anything bigger then a paper clip into cyberspace.
He snapped the laptop shut carefully when the train slid to a stop slipping it into his satchel before standing. He had left a lot of stuff in his room over the break so he only had one other bag to carry. It was a good thing to because he only had one useable arm.
He stepped down from the train looking over at the carriages brushing the hair out of his eyes dragging the suitcase along behind him heading for the carriages.
Katherine stared up at the ceiling muttering to herself before rolling over an heading for the door. She once again, had to spend the summer at the school as part of her parole agreement. She was one of the few students that actually control over there powers that actually had to stay here.
She left her room shutting the door behind her heading for the stairs, it wasn’t like she was in a hurry anyway although she was glad that everyone else was back.
((Short, oh well))

((Batman? XD))
Eevy stood on the platform grinning with her hands locked under her braid. After a relaxing summer she was ready for whatever kid tried to get through her classes thinking it would be an easy A. For how long she didn't know. She had almost forgotten the worst of the kids that had come through her class. Her eyebrows twitched at the thoughts and she cleared them, hoping for a better lot this year.

Mat threw her bags into a carriage and climbed up. One bag had knew clothes in it, the second bag had sewing supplies in it (cloth, thread, yarn, patterns, an several packs of different sized needles and crocheting stick-things), and the third bag had ruined CD's in it, for her room. Mat didn't bother with paint. Her entire dorm was almost completely covered from floor to ceiling with Cds that over lapped each other and shinned like mirrors. So much so that even at night she didn't need a lamp because the CDs reflected any light, and glowed brightly.
Mat saw two boys, one about her year and another one she recognized as an eight year. Mat sat as far as she could from either one, trying to avoid touching them. She made a big job of putting in her head phones.
Not like she needed too, it was almost common knowledge that Mat was a bitch, and very mean. Most...well actually everybody misunderstood why she was such a bitch, but that didn't really matter, did it? Mat was just plain mean to anybody and everybody, well besides the teachers. She was a normal student to them.
And in the event that Mat some how met up with someone that didn't know how she was, she would make it very obvious that she didn't want anything to do with anybody, even in the slightest way.
Mat turned up her music, the faint beat of Crawling entered into the carriage as she looked out of the small foggy window, she could already feel the headache coming and she prayed silently that she wouldn't get an ear-splitter. Because that meant she had copied someones power, and she really didn't want to live with that on her first day back.
____
Olakunde made a slight clicking sound as he leaned against the railing on the platform. His arms were cold, even under his jacket. All his life he had spent time in very warm weather, and even these past few years in Maine had not made him immune to the cold he always felt. He just wanted to get back inside, so he could get ready for the onslaught of new years and immature brats of his gym class.
Ola turned his wrist up and peeked at his clock on his wrist. Already been an hour since they were told to come down here. One hour! And now the students were just taking forever to get off the train.
He shifted impatiently and ran a hand across his bald head, his rough charcoal black hands rubbing against the slight stubble that was starting to poke out of his hair. He would need to cut it soon, it was getting to long.
~_~_~_~_~_~_~
Kida hummed happily, holding her bag in one hand and her backpack in the other swung her self up into a carriage that was still empty. She set her bag beside her and her backpack in her lap and started tapping a fast rhythm on her black backpack looking around with a smile with a lot of energy.

René glanced at the girl. He could faintly hear her music, it was pretty good, one of his favorite bands. He knew better than to start a conversation with her, not that he would even without her reputation. He looked out his window again.
Jacob glanced at the other two occupants of his carriage. One was a silent bitch. The other was a silent weirdo. Great. He couldn't wait until they got to the school.

Amelia almost skipped off the train, she did every year, the library here was amazing, you could find one so well stocked anywhere, thatwas thanks to her aunt, Nancy.
Amelia climbed up into the carriage with graceful ease, and then stowed her bag above on the racks. It was just one duffle bag, she packed herself really well, all the clothes were packed up neatly in little rolls which would come out with no wrinkles whatsoever. But she also didn't pack much, unlike most girls, she didn't need a straightener, ten curling irons, a huge bag of make up and three different sets of hair accesories.
She looked at the other three occupants of the carriage, there was a girl that she knew to be Mat, there was also her friend René, and another boy she didn't know, she wasn't about to introduce herself though, being so introverted. "Hey René," she said, sitting down.

René nodded in greeting at Amelia. They were friends, though they were six school years apart. He hardly ever spoke to her, but she didn't seem to mind that much.
Jacob stared at Amelia. She was pretty. Very pretty. "Hi, I'm Jacob. Nice to meet you!" He grinned, winningly, and started to talk to her. "So how was your summer? Mine was great, we got to go to the beaches at the south of France! It was fun, except the toilet at our hotel exploded. That really stunk." He grinned. Boy, what a great topic of discussion, an exploding toilet. What a way to make a first impression.
René glanced at Jacob. Then he grinned and looked out the window again, watching the inside of the carriage by reflection.

Their happy voices broke through the peacefulness of her music. Mat made a face and cranked up her ipod another turn around, the music was louder than she preferred, she could feel the bass from her music actually shaking the small ear buds. Mat really didn't like her music to be that high, but come on, exploding toilets? Did other people not have anything better to say?
Mat rolled her eyes again and leaned her head against the window sill, closing her eyes. Her headache was getting worse. Someone must really be in poor control of their powers, or Mat's was just acting up again. She let out a small groan as she song ended and then Breaking the Habit started, shooting sound into her ears. Yeah, that was totally helping her headache.
She wished they would just shut up so she could turn her music down to a reasonable decibel. But if they were going to make annoying small talk like what she had heard she would rather bash her head through the window then listen to their annoying flirting. ((They are all accepted. ^^))

ooc: And here it is! (ai did it on my word processing thing first...>w<) bic:
As the stewardess soon moved behind the place that two boys were in, they got up, and walked slowly out of the train, carrying their luggage, and into an empty carriage. One boy, the oldest, had gotten into just a /bit/ of trouble before he got into the train, for, now, he was holding one arm, his left, because it had been, and still is, bleeding. He held two luggage bags, but was still able to hold onto one with just one hand. On his back, was something that nobody knew he had, or so he thought, that was invisible. His name is Taikato, and what made him stick out of the rest of the students, other than his bleeding arm, was his long cloak, and his hat, his all famous hat that really isn’t famous at all.
When he soon reached the carriage, he panted, because he was losing a lot of blood, but he really didn’t want to pay a visit to Nurse Aiere, for he knew that she would get oh so very mad at him and instead of making the wound feel better, make it feel worse. She had a touch of that, to heal the wound, but make it have an annoying pain for a long while. “Gosh...” He said, clutching his arm. “Why must they always do that?!” he exclaimed.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Right behind Taikato, who had happened to be there when Taikato got into the fight, was another boy, carrying two bags of luggage. His hair is long, and he wore a thin, yet very warm, jacket, and the normal gloves he always seems to wear. His name, Talontan, or just plain old Talon, for short. He never liked it when people called him “Talin,” because his name was spelled just the way it sounds, Tal-On. That easy. Well, this young boy was just mad, because he always knew that Tai would get into some sort of trouble, but at the same time, he cared, A LOT.
Talon got onto the carriage, and looked at Tai’s arm, which Tai seemed to be breathing very hard, and you could see his breath glimmering icy cold in the coldness. Talon shook his head, and played a bit with his glove, then looked back up at Tai. At first, he wanted to speak, but didn’t, then he opened his mouth, then closed it. Talon knew that Tai never liked to have the nurse mentioned, then, he finally spoke up, “Tai, you should really get someone to look at that...” he told.
“Be quiet Talon...gah...I’m fine, I’ve had worse...” Tai told.
“Well...Dien always looked at it...” Talon told.
“But she makes everything worse! She hates me!”
“It’s not her fault.”
“Oh, thanks...” And that was the end of their conversation, a sarcastic form of “thanks.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Stuck in the cold, was one man, who seemed to not be wearing any jacket at all. It didn’t bother him, at all, and he just seemed to be having fun. He would just make a little icicle, in a form of this, and in a form of that, the most popular was the form of a small bird, after he would be done with an ice sculpture, he would melt it, and start again. He always enjoyed doing this, and his name you ask? Shinbue, Sura Fuote Shinbue, the elemental teacher, the teacher who likes to make his class, really fun, for those who want it to be fun, that is.
Well, Shinbue was awaiting the students, but didn’t really mind the extra one hour wait that he had to wait. He still thought what was taking the students too long, and really hoped it wasn’t due to kid who always got into trouble, not really just Taikato, who really enjoyed being in Shinbue’s class, but there were other kids.
As Shinbue made a last ice sculpture of a frog, he turned to Ola, who Shinbue just happened to be standing besides. “Ola, calm down,” He told. “They’ll get here soon, it’s not like if you really want them to get here...all the peace before they get here, it’s beautiful...then, the students arrive, but I just happen to like every single student....” Shinbue smiled.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
In the small what-this-woman-calls-a-hospital, a woman was getting everything ready for the arriving students. Her name, Aiere Dien, Aie, or just Dien. She liked working here, for she always enjoyed being here herself as a student, but she was worried, and didn’t want to happen to think who it was that would first be visiting her.
Other than that, she just got everything ready, and made all the beds, and cleaned everything. She made sure they were fully stocked up on supplies, and wouldn’t run out at all. She sighed, and she tried to make everything look like at-home.
She worried, and hoped that this year, not many people would have to visit her, well, injured wise, she liked the kids and always hoped them of the best health. She stood up, and looked out of the window. There weren’t any carriages yet, so that worried her. She started pacing then went to go sit down at her office, and she just stayed there for a while, trying to clear up her mind. She sighed, and just worked on some paper work.

Sparky (he hated his real name) stared out the window into the darkness. Then he sighed. He hated being alone, and couldn't wait until everyone else got here. Especially his room-mate. Cold, dark lonely nights were not his fun time. Sparky sighed and readjusted his gloves. Suddenly, he smelled smoke. Sparky swung around. His impatience had ignited the edge of his desk. Crap. He immediately started to smother it. Stupid flammable desk. He looked out the window, praying that they'd come quickly. If they didn't, he was afraid he'd burn the place down.

Lian made a ninety degree turn in his chair away from his desk so he was facing the window. His hair was up and messy like always and he had decided to dawn on a black dress shirt and black dress pants for the occasion of the students returning. Don't get him wrong, he loved the students, justs some of them were rather difficult to deal with sometimes. What with the awkwardice of being a teenager combined with strange powers that acted up for no reason, some of the students were down right hard to deal with.
Lian sighed and ran a hand through his hair looking out the window with a raised eye. The carriages were twenty minutes late in arriving. What was taking so long? Lian stood and went to the door to his office, which was in the main office on the first floor, and went outside, passing the secretaries desk as he went.
He walked outside to the fountain that stood in front of the front doors and peered down the trail from the woods. Why were they not here?

Amelia smiled at Jacob. "Wow," she said, "How'd it happen?" He was really one of the only people besides René that she could talk to. "I had a pretty good summer, too. Papa (Grandpa) and I went to South Caronlina and toured the Coast Guard ships that are moored there. And an eploding toilet isn't that bad of a topic, it's actually pretty interesting."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nancy walked through the many aisles of the library, making sure that everything was in place, the tables were set out, the chairs were all down, and the books were all in their right spots. Once she was finished, she sat down and opened the latest book she was reading.
Art drudged down the hallway, lugging his wheel bag of luggage. He was sleeping in the last cart and some jerks had drawn on his face. His head was ducked because he didn't have anything to wipe it off with and some tears of humiliation had streaked the marker. Art searched for an empty cart or one where the kids on it wouldn't laugh. This time he wouldn't fall asleep, no matter how boring.
