The Beginning

[Athie]

Kikara waltzed through the room. "Hi I Am Kikara!!" She said to everybody in the room. Siana shook her head. Sometimes her best friend was idiotic.

"Kikara!!" Siana screeched. "Stop It!". Kikara's eyes teared up. Siana always yelled at her. She hated it when Siana yelled at her.

"These People Are Our Enemies!" Siana continued despite Kikara's now overflowing eyes.

"Wait There's Darkstar!!!" Kikara pointed up. Siana looked up and saw what Kikara was pointing at.

Siana teleported up there with Kikara right behind her. "Shhh.." Siana hushed Kikara as they Hid Behind A Gargoyle.

[Icefire]

"Huh...? Who's there?" Darkstar said loudly as she spun around. "KiKara! Siana!" Goldwing exclaimed. Then Darkstar looked in the say he was indicating. Her eyes lit up at seeing her old friends, then her face darkened. "We are now enemies." She shook her head in despair. "I might kill you, you might kill me. Unless we are on the same team, we will no longer communicate in the way that we have before." Darkstar turned sadly back around. They had been loyal friends, but now that time was over.

[Aura]

(Athie, please use the character board and wait for your characters to be accepted before you use them.)

Wasi sighed, bored. Why'd these people have to come and spoil her fun. They should know better than to talk to the ones who were about to be running their lives. Crossing her arms behind her head, she teleported back to her original spot, ignoring Darkstar's question.

"Chagrin! Bane!" she whined. "Where are you two? You better hurry up, the teams'll be made soon!"

[Athie]

Dragnia sat down and so did Talon. So they started to think about the whole quest think.

[Icefire]

Luna and Kiro walked around, just staring at the huge crowds. "Wooooow...." murmured Kiro. "Thats a lot of people..." "C'mon, they are going to make the teams soon, and we dont want to be separated, or they might put us on different teams." Luna told Kiro sternly. No one would have ever guessed that Kiro was 12, and Luna was only 9. Luna was small for her age, but still tall, and Kiro.... Kiro just acted like she was 5. "OKAY! Then we better hurry up to the front!" Kiro said loudly, and started running through the crowds of people. "NO! KIRO COME BACK!" Luna yelled as she started running after Kiro. A few moments later, Luna had completely lost sight of Kiro. "KIIRRROOOO!!!!!!" she moaned as she sat down on a bench, her worry turning into anger. Kiro shouldnt go off and do things she wasnt suposed to, and especially getting lost.

[Aura]

All of a sudden, the same voice came again.

"Very well. It is too late to back out now, from this moment on, the maze has claimed you. The doors are closed, and no route to the outside world exists. You have relinquished all you came here with, and now you will be alone except for your teammates. So make good use of them. Your goal is to win, but greater than that is the goal to survive – even at the cost of your teammate’s lives."

"Or perhaps you pride yourself on your honor," said the voice, full of spite. "Well then, go and try to work together, see how far it gets you. I wish you ill luck as you traverse this maze, for I am not just the host but the master, and nothing pleases me more than your confusion and suffering. But now, let us choose the teams, we have delayed too long already."

"The first team will be under Wasi's command," it continued, and the young girl jumped up and teleported to the first door, gleaming red. "Noodles, Riven, Speeka, and Aaron, you are team one."

"The second team will be under the command of Chagrin." An elf appeared in front of the second, yellow door, her cold eyes glaring across the audience, and at Wasi. "Dragnia, Azrael, and Talon, you are team two."

"The third team will follow Bane." A girl who looked remarkably like Wasi appeared in front of the third door, her sky-blue eyes matching the blue of the door behind her. "Luna, Kirona, and Aryani, you are team three."

"And lastly, the fourth team will be watched by Ennui." An orange-tabby cat with two tails appeared in front of the fourth door, contrasting the violet. Wise green eyes stared into space. "Kaiser, Darkstar, and Kuro, you are team four."

A few more doors remained empty, but it was clear the teams were done. "Gather by your guides. Your first task is to name your team. As soon as that is done, you will pass through the doors in front of you and enter the maze."

[Aura]

"Well? Hurry up!" called Wasi to all the contestants, ignoring the look Chagrin sent her way. "Gather round, one and all! Except not all by me, go to your guides! You heard Za-Za! Oh, and then suggest names, and we'll vote!" she giggled happily. Finally, it was beginning!

[Icefire]

Luna sighed with relief. As she walked up to Bane, she saw Kiro alredy there, sitting on the ground, playing with the dirt. "Save your energy, Kiro. You might need it in that maze." she said quietly as she stood next to Kiro. "Oh, sorry. Your right." Kiro got up and let the dirt and pebble fall back to the ground. Kiro was careless, but very, very powerful. Although Luna was younger, she was even more powerful, being able to control air, so therefore, she was put in charge of the two by their Luna's mother, Karolyn.

Goldwing flew over to Darkstar's door, and as Darkstar unsummoned ((best word I could think of...)) him, she dropped down to the ground and landed gracefully in a sly crouch. "A cat ...Your kidding me, right? Do you shapeshift or somethin, or are you just a cat all the time?" Darkstar asked, staring at the orange tabby in front of her. Though it just looked like a regular cat, something told Darkstar that she was makeing a big mistake, thinking it ws 'just a cat'.

[Aura]

The young Bane looked up at the two who stood in front of her already. "Hey, were still missing one, right?" she asked them. She hadn't been paying much attention, but she thought three sounded about right...

"You should know not to judge things by appearances," spoke the cat, it's tails waving hypnotically from side to side. "You won't last long here. You better hope your teammates are more careful that you, or you'll all end up dead. And we wouldn't want that, would we?"

Smiling strangely, the cat stood up on two legs. Ghostly fire-like energy surrounded it, and its appearance changed to that of a human. "If you prefer, I may be a bit more inclined to stay in this form. But you must admit, it's only natural for a cat to be a cat."

[Icefire]

"Well I said that I though there was more to you! And besides... YOU should also know not to judge by appearances. You seem like you think I judge by appearances, since of what I said, but apparently I dont, because I knew that there was more to you. Though I look like a normal elf, maybe with some elemental powers, etc. But actually I have two friends. Meet Goldwing and Sharpfang. I share a brain with them, so therefore I have extra knowledge. Sharpfang informed me that there was more. I can control them if I wish, but I prefer not to." Darkstar informed the cat, now human, standing in front of her. Sharpfang and Goldwing soon materalized beside her. Darkstar's eyes glowed with the insult, hungry for a challenge. "I will prove to you that I am much more than I appear." Darkstar growled as she turned away, and Sharpfang and Goldwing dissapeared.

[Aura]

"Actually, I believe you said 'are you just a cat all the time?' You never said whether you thought there was or wasn't. You make assumptions with little or no evidence, it seems, mine grow off data. For example, my assumption that you won't last very long is being backed up by everything you say." said Ennui, his piercing green eyes gazing back nonchalantly.

"For example, the first two things you have said to me have shown you to be too expectant, pugnacious, and eager to show off. Those qualities will doom you here, no matter how much knowledge you possess. So I'd focus more on your own faults and less on challenges that you cannot possibly win."

Ennui shifted his gaze from the three and looked off into the distance again. "You don't even know what you're up against or who you will be fighting with, and already you're breaking up the team. You see those three?" he said, gesturing toward Wasi, Chagrin, and Bane in turn. "They enjoy this, they hurt their own teams in order to have a little fun. I do not. Be glad that I will not make your time any harder, and don't destroy the team before it has even been made. I do count myself a member, an impartial one perhaps, but that is better than a foe. Be sure you keep things that way."

[GIR]

Noodles jumped as her name was called and ran clunkily over to Wasi. "Hi!" She said, smiling. After a second, her exspression turned worried and she leaned over and said nervously, "I, uh, don't really know what I'm to do here. Heh."

[Aura]

"Hi!" replied Wasi, grinning from ear to ear. "Za-Za said we were supposed to be choosing a name. But since everyone else is slower than you," she said, gesturing at the still-gathered people, "I guess we'll have to wait a bit."

There was a brief moment of silence, then she said: "Or did you mean this whole thing? 'Cause that's much more fun!"

"The Who-o-o-ole thing!" Noodles said, caught up in the happy mood, "How is it fun?"
