I hope you all know how grateful I am to all of you for the time you've spent here. I've gotten a millions smiles and laughs out of this place, and I've grown along with my characters through our long journey. I hope you all have similar feelings, and that you count your time on Tychras as being worthwhile.
When the site was created, it was an important place for me, and I like to think that it played a role in others' lives as well. It was active and fun, with new roleplays popping up all the time and new ideas constantly emerging. We built friendships and this site together, and spent endless hours with each other, creating deep stories or just chatting about random things in the chatbox. The site provided a link between people across the world from each other.
But the site isn't needed any more. When I suggested closing the site in the past, many of you wanted to give it another chance, so we all worked to bring it back. But I believe that this isn't really what we want. The site is still special - but it's a memory now, something to treasure for what it was, and not what it will be. Several years have passed since we came together in this place, and we've all grown. As we move forwards, we find that this site just isn't part of the future.
So it's time to finally resolve this long tale. The site will be closing. But I don't view this as a sad event, or as a failure of any sort. I'm happy to be able to say this. We've outgrown the site, and I can smile at all the memories I have of Tychras. So this is my Christmas wish: that we can all be thankful for the great times we've had together, and also for the great times still to come.
This is a final decision. I think if you all pause and consider this, you'll agree that this is the right thing to do. Tychras has had a good, long run, and it's time we let the dragon get a much deserved rest.
If you really want to hang on to this, you're welcome to create a new site or to use this one - I'll give anyone who wants them the permissions. And all of you are welcome to email me any time if you want to keep in touch, or just let me know about something random. We may outgrow this site, but we haven't outgrown each other. =)
So merry Christmas, everyone - be merry. This world is too small for us now, but there's a great one out there ready to begin.
