Prologue. Lenya skipped merrily into the house with a bowl of ripe oranges in her arms. Her little sister, Kikara, followed her with a handful of newly-picked daisies. Lenya grinned. "Wait til Mum and Pa see what we brought." she thought to herself.
"Mum!" she yelled. No reply. "Pa!" she tried again. "Mum? Pa?"
"They must still be asleep." she thought. "Strange." Lenya ran into the bedroom.
She dropped the clay bowl, and just like her heart..
