Kin walked on down the hallway, ignoring the many branches that reached off on each side of the corridor. He would trust the voice, the voice that with its other breath told him not to trust anyone. And he would figure out a way to deal with that paradox later, once he had become more accustomed to this strange new reality.
His steps became first slower, and then quicker when he saw an end to the hallway just ahead - apprehension mixed with curiosity and even some latent impatience. Soon, therefore, he found himself standing before a solitary door. His eyes skimmed the note placed upon it.
The Room. The voice had mentioned a room before, had said things might become more clear if he reached it. He did not enter right away, however: instead, he pondered the rest of the note.
The mention of multiple worlds did not startle him - he lived in two, after all, and thus it was not unthinkable that there might be others he did not have access to. The reference to creators piqued his curiosity - but "creator" had a different meaning to everyone. The latter part of the note was most interesting, as it explained the strange situation of being himself but feeling the energy locked just below the surface - and then there was the mention of the "I". Everything was too cryptic to comprehend; time and experience would have to help with that task. He moved his hand to the door and entered.
As he stepped in, he heard another voice - this one not in his head. Was the question directed at him? He was about to answer when the original voice echoed strongly in his memories and caused him to check his tongue. Despite the note seeming to guarantee lack of harm within this room, he would follow the warning he had been given and not give away his trust blindly. He would stay silent for the moment, and wait in the darkness.

Set
Set moved to speak and thought she heard another noise off to the side. She listened for a moment for it to repeat itself. When it did not, she started up again. "I'm-" She remembered the insistence of the loud little voice and started over. "I believe I am Set." She said firmly.

~EON~
Eon rose an eyebrow. "As in the Egyptian god of chaos?" He wondered how appropriate that name was to this girl. She probably had her name changed like he did. He tried to pinpoint just where in the room she was, and guessed over in that direction. So he faced her, not feeling like standing up just yet.

Mar
Mar froze when he heard others arriving and talking. He wasn't so sure he'd let anyone know he was there just yet. He'd listen to them first, and see if they revealed any information on this silly room. It would give him the advantage of knowing more of them than they knew of him, as well. He slid his feet slowly across the floor, so he didn't trip over anything laying about, until he could feel a wall, and leaned against what felt like a book case. He felt around on the shelf, but there weren't any books or any other object sitting on them. They were just empty shelves. He couldn't get distracted by exploring the contents of the room though. He returned his attention to however many others were in the room. He had heard at least two distinct voices, but he had the feeling there were others around.
Bel Bel listened carefully, trying to make what assumptions he could from hearing the voices. These voices sounded strange to him though, and he couldn't even make out if they were male or female. His choices were to either sit quietly, explore and probably get found out, or just talk to them and make it all a bit more simple. "Egyptian?" Bel asked in a quiet voice. "Are they the people of your world?" He assumed they caught on to the fact that they came from a number of different worlds, and some may have even come from different versions of the same world. Bel suddenly became more curious about them than he had been about anything for an eternity.

~EON~
Eon turned his head towards the new quiet voice. "Yes, Egypt is a country in my world... and Egyptians are one of the many people there. They used to have a set of gods, and one, the god of chaos, was called Set." he explained. He knew there were a lot of people in here, but so far, only two others were speaking. Vaguely, he wondered how long it would be until they had some kind of light.

Closing the door quietly behind her, Tao entered the room, and was momentarily surprised by the immense darkness. She thought maybe something was (seriously) wrong with her glasses, but when she took them off and still couldn't see anything, she just decided that's how the Room must be. Hearing voices, she waited, not wanting to interrupt anything. "Um, hello?" Tao asked, "Worlds?"

Bel Briefly, Bel wondered if it was now okay to tell others about all the worlds. Usually, they were never allowed to tell others about the worlds, just to preserve their own thoughts. If some more primitive culture learned about another world full of riches and paradise, they might spend the rest of their days trying to find a way there. It shouldnt' hurt here though. "There are many worlds." He said slowly. It was kind of funny talking to these creatures. They sounded so funny to him, and he guessed he sounded funny to them too. "The one I came from was destroyed a very long time ago, and when it happened my people were scattered across a number of worlds. That's how we discovored their existance. They're all unique in some way." He took a quiet sniff, curious about the scents of the strangers. They smelled like living creatures, but not like any he had met before.
Mar More were arriving. Mar could count at least four distinct voices, and he was almost positive that they weren't the only ones there now. He thought he could hear someone else breathing, but he couldn't quite tell. This was really odd. He couldn't do anything he normally could. He couldn't see them through the darkness, for one, and he couldn't hear any thoughts at all. For once his head was silent, and he almost thought he'd like to sleep. But he couldn't. He had to stay awake and listen.

Set
Set listened to the others, committing their voices and general areas to memory. She nodded to herself as they spoke of other worlds. It was part of her recent studies of theories.
"No." She finally replied, her voice quiet, but strong. "I do know of the god Set and I have been to an Egypt, possibly the same as yours or the like, yet I have no affiliation with that Set to my knowledge. May I be so forward as to ask your names sirs...and miss?"
Her voice faded into silence as she listened. It was no longer a silence of emptiness, but a sort of silence like at a church or classroom, buzzing with breathing and slight movements.

.:Die:. Die flinched when he started hearing all the voices...he was so unsure of what was going on. But then someone said 'Egypt,' which made him perk up. 'Hey...I'm from Egypt...' he thought, hearing the other's voices echo. He was very unsure of what to do, so he fiddled with his fingers, wondering what to do. There were people in there, for one, and the room was dark...for another. What was going on? ~^Vex^~ "Ooooh!!! There are people in here!!!" Vex shouted, bouncing up and down. "How many people are in here?! I'm Vex!!! I don't know what it is or what it means, but I'm Vex!!!" she repeated, looking around, aware that she could see nothing. "There must be a lightswitch! Even /daddy/ doesn't have rooms with no light on!!!!" she exclaimed, leaning up against the wall and beginning to feel around for some sort of switch. "People whose names I don't know, we should look for a switch!!! Then we can talk!!!" she shouted, still feeling around, hoping not to run into anybody.

He was caught off guard by the sudden realization of exactly how many people were in the room - many more than he had originally anticipated, to be not at all exact. The note flashed in his mind again. Why were they all here?
In all his many years of traveling between the two worlds he had access to, he had never come across much overlap. Well, he, of course, existed in both, but other than that... no one from his living world ever entered the world he entered when he "slept", nor did anyone from the world of magic he knew ever escape into his "real" world. And that was just between two worlds. Certainly, it was exceedingly strange that so many worlds seemed to have crossed in one moment.
But a thought occurred to him. He did not understand this yet - and he doubted that many in the room had a full understanding of it, either - but if he was able to figure it out, he might be able to gain a deeper understanding of his own situation.
And at least, here were people who, by the very virtue of being here, knew what his situation was like. Here were people who wouldn't find him crazy simply for living across two planes of existence. He had always been a bit of an outcast in both his lives, yet in this room... in this room might be people closer to him than anyone he knew, despite their origins likely being from completely different worlds.
And different personalities, he realized, flinching slightly at the woman's sudden shout - it posed a harsh contrast to the softer, pondering talk of a few moments before. He was not entirely comfortable in this dark, unknown place. But it was time to speak.
"I am Kin." There was no hesitation in his voice. It was obvious that the others were using pseudonyms as well, so he made himself incorporate the new title into his being.

~EON~
Eon nodded. "My name..." he hesitated. He'd had many names over the past. His current one, however, that the voice had told him to be, was, "Eon. My name is Eon."

Tao was in shock; she had heard and read that there were other worlds, other people than her own, but she had always been told that they were fictious, child's play, or at the worst, dangerous, primitive and not to be trifled with. Although, unless this was one of her more vivid dreams, there really were other worlds and they weren't all terrible; some of these people sounded sophisticated, even. "According to what I was told at the door, for now, I am Tao."

Set
Set jumped at Vex's loud voice. She composed herself and listened as Vex stumbled around the room. In the absence of her powers, she picked up the speech patterns of her close friends. "I don't comprehend what you would require a switch for, unless you intend on thrashing a spark out from the ground...... Unless a switch signifies something else where you come from."
She realized that each of those who introduced themselves had similar simple names. She noticed none of them had mentioned the voice she heard and it was probably for the better. Anonymity was a great asset and the voice seemed to want it as well.

Tao smiled at the misconception, amused both by the thought of trying to beat a fire out of the ground, and the fact that, by the way she sounded and what she was saying, Vex seemed like the type that might try that. "The switch she is talking about is something that completes a set of wires which connects to a power source to make a light," she explained quietly, "not a tree branch, though even one of those might prove useful at this point." In her studies, she had read that by creating enough friction one could start a fire, which made sense in theory, but she hadn't ever thought she would even need to try it.

~^Vex^~ "Bah, do you think I'm an idiot? I may always have tons of energy, but if it wasn't for me, Daddy wouldn't be where he was right now. I'm saying," she paused. She stopped fiddling around and decided that the people here didn't deserve her perky personality. "This is a room, and from what I've felt, there are book shelves and different things, which in turn might mean that there is a switch for a light somewhere in this room..." she hissed, sitting down in some random spot. .:Die:. Die was irritated by all the voices. He simply wanted to get out or turn on some light...the darkness was irritating him...(haha, short XD)
