I realize it's very likely that this will die, but I figured I may as well try to get another roleplay going... since TTS seems to be in permanent standby. I made this plot on another RP site, but that one is slow too (I seem to be a curse for all sites I'm ever on), so I had the brilliant idea to try simultaneously on an even slower site! Yay. >>
So, uhh.... anyone interested? Maybe? I won't be as picky with this one as I am with TTS, I promise. D=
Anyways, plot and such time, I guess...
Plot:
Three clans have shared their borders with each other for as long as any of the clan cats can remember. Frostclan, Shadeclan, and Dustclan do have their differences, of course, but for many moons there has been peace. However, the founding of the new Wildclan is quickly accentuating tensions. Wildclan is not a traditional clan in any sense of the word: it's been formed from a mix of former clan cats who tired of the ways of their own clans, loners, kittypets... the clan will accept anyone, as long as they accept the clan as their family and work to support it. Skirmishes over land had already begun increasing after an epidemic thinned the numbers of both prey and cats alike, and now with a new clan wanting to split the territory, emotions are running high and everyone is on edge. Some wish to carve out their own lives, others want to preserve the teachings of old, and others are simply trying to find enough food to last another day. But in the confined lands of the clans, these wishes clash with each other, and it seems only a matter of time before cats will fight to achieve their goals and ideals.
So that was the lame plot idea. o.o A little bit more about each of the clans...
Clan Information:
Shadeclan:
Territory - Shadeclan lives in the very heart of the forest. Trees are packed tightly together, and it's easy for a non-clan cat to get lost in the shadowy maze. Prey is plentiful in the vivacious foliage, but so is shelter: it takes a skilled hunter to catch a mouse before it can find cover. Shadeclan's territory is bordered by Frostclan to the west and Dustclan to the south.
Characteristics - Shadeclan is the oldest of the clans, and the most traditional. The warrior code is upheld to the letter in all but the rarest cases, and these beliefs have caused Shadeclan to refuse to recognize Wildclan as a clan at all. Shadeclan cats tend to be extremely loyal to their clanmates and very dedicated; they are hardworking and determined. It is no accident that they have such an expansive territory, and have become known as a very powerful clan.
Relations - Shadeclan has so far been peaceful with Dustclan, with no major conflicts. Relations are slightly strained with Frostclan due to occasional border skirmishes. Shadeclan refuses to recognize Wildclan at all.
Frostclan:
Territory - Frostclan's territory is bordered on three sides by a creek. The shallow waters do not pose much of a threat (though slippery rocks can cause broken bones in the unwary), and provide a home for many small fish. Frostclan holds less territory than either Shadeclan or Dustclan, but what lands it does have are the most fertile, nurtured by the river. To Frostclan's east, across the river, is Shadeclan. Southeast is Dustclan, and directly south lies Wildclan.
Characteristics - The cats of Frostclan tend to be a bit untrusting of other cats - with fair reason, as many battles have been fought to try and take away their control of the creek and good lands. They tend to be quiet and to keep to themselves more. The cats are extremely strong-willed, however, and can be stubborn fighters when attacked.
Relations - Strained towards all other clans, though not in outright war with any at the moment.
Dustclan:
Territory - Dustclan lives at the edge of the forest, though they make their true home in the hillsides: their burrows are hollowed out tunnels dug in the hills. The bare hillside and thin forests don't provide the most prey, but Dustclan's expansive lands help to make up for this. However, Dustclan faces the most danger from predators, as many others would like to make their homes in the sheltered burrows of the hills. Dustclan lies south of Shadeclan, southeast of Frostclan, and east of Wildclan.
Characteristics - Dustclan cats tend to be friendly and open, though they can be a bit aloof. They're the least strict of the original clans as to the warrior code, though as a clan they still respect it and try to honor it. Due to their lands of poorer quality and the great defenses of their burrow, they've had to bear less conflict with the other clans, and so generally have better relations with them. They also have an advantage in that Diamond Cave, where cats must go to speak with Starclan, is located within their territory.
Relations - Generally peaceful. Of the three original clans, they are the only ones especially welcoming towards Wildclan.
Wildclan:
Territory - As a new clan, Wildclan doesn't have much it can call home. Only a small section of the forest west of Dustclan and south of Frostclan - of course, the clan cats believe they deserve more lands than this, and would love for the bigger clans to give up some of their territory.
Characteristics - The clan is formed of cats of all types, and due to this is very unlike the older clans. Which aspects of the warrior code should be followed is up for debate, and even the clan hierarchy is different: the clan is led by a council of three leaders, who decide together what should be done. Wildclan has cats of all types, but generally they are in Wildclan because they see a future different from the one that the other clans, in their adherence to tradition, have to offer.
Relations - Currently good with Dustclan, but that's the only positive. Frostclan and Wildclan have tensions between them over land claims, and Shadeclan outright believes that Wildclan should not exist. Thankfully for Wildclan, Shadeclan does not have any direct borders with the much smaller clan.
