Tiberium Wars
March, 2047. A massive nuclear fireball explodes high in the night sky, marking the dramatic beginning to the Third Tiberium War.
In 2047, Tiberium has blanketed the Earth, which is now divided into zones based on the level of Tiberium infestation. Pristine Blue Zones represent 20% of the planet's surface and are the last refuge of the civilized world. Partially habitable Yellow Zones make up 50% of the planet's surface; most of the world's population lives in these war-torn and ecologically ravaged areas. The remaining 30% of the planet is uninhabitable, a Tiberium wasteland swept by violent Ion Storms. Red Zones are like the surface of an Alien planet.
The infamous Kane has returned to lead the Brotherhood of Nod in a massive global assault on the Global Defense Initiative and the few remaining Blue zones left on the planet. Only you can stop him or help him in his battle for power and key to alien’s planet wrap gates. The fate of humanity – and the planet – is in your hands.
Welcome back, Soldiers.
Factions are….
GDI – Global Defense Initiative – Unknown
The Global Defense Initiative (GDI) is a secret military organization of the Group of 8, a group of world superpowers. It is tasked with ensuring world peace and combatting and reversing the global spread of the alien substance Tiberium (for more on Tiberium, see The Essence of Tiberium, by Blbpaws). GDI, originally a small treaty organization, became of paramount importance, as it fought two wars, The First and Second Tiberium Wars, against the Brotherhood of Nod, a stateless organization seeking to spread Tiberium. GDI is now an effective nation-state, fighting for its cause, and in so doing, it believes, humanity's future.
In 2047: Tiberium Wars is set, the Earth can be effectively divided into three types of planetary zones. GDI controls the Tiberium-free Blue Zones, about 20% of the Earth, while attempting to push Nod and Tiberium out of the Yellow Zones. Its attempts in this regard are met with mixed success, as GDI is hampered by internal disagreements on Tiberium policy, and an unwieldy bureaucracy.
GDI's military is decentralized across many theaters of war, but is powerful and strong, armed with rapid-deployment troops and advanced technologies such as weather control. Its land units range from the Predator main battle tank, to fast attack vehicles, to powerful Juggernaut artillery, to the lumbering Mammoth Tank. The GDI Air Force is also impressive, featuring ORCA aircraft, Firehawk attack jets, and rapid transports. GDI's military is ready for the long fight. As GDI and Nod clash in another epic struggle, humanity fights again over the enigmatic alien substance.
And so begins the Third Tiberium War...
NOD – Brotherhood of Nod –Kane
The Brotherhood of Nod is a stateless, quasi-terrorist organization fighting against the Global Defense Initiative. Its military prowess does not seem to suffer from this status, however, as Nod has shown itself to be more than capable of giving GDI all that it can handle. Part of Nod's power comes from its undying embrace of the substance Tiberium and its unique properties. This allows Nod to unleash deadly Tiberium-based weapons.
Nod's military is predicated on strong attacks that develop quickly and end before the heavy GDI units show up. To this end, its advanced technologies reflect an emphasis on stealth units and surgical strikes: the Vertigo Stealth Bomber and Stealth Tank, both among the most advanced units in the Nod arsenal, are perfect examples of this emphasis.
Nod's philosophy is set by its enigmatic and charismatic leader Kane (profiled in Generals World's An Investigation of C&C Characters, by Blbpaws). Nod's optimistic and uplifting views towards Tiberium can be seducing to those living in the Yellow Zones, leading to a steady supply of new recruits. Nod also provides social services to many people in those same zones, further enhancing its appeal to the masses. But perhaps the clearest insight into Nod comes from an excerpt from a training manual for new recruits:
Welcome to the Brotherhood of Nod. You have joined a global order with millions of members all working together in harmony to unite the world in the name of peace and realize the true potential of mankind.
Our relationship with Tiberium has always been greatly misunderstood. Most people do not realize that the roots of our faith extend back several millennia, long before the emergence of the green crystal on Earth in 1995… an event prophesized by our great leader, Kane.
While the fascist political consortium of wealthy nations known as the Global Defense Initiative attempted to control the sacred green crystal, the Brotherhood worked tirelessly to acquire samples of the precious crystal… to study it, to unlock its potential as a new energy source, to explore its possibilities. Through our research and our faith, we have affirmed that Tiberium is the ultimate gift to mankind. It is the key to the future.
Our movement grew rapidly throughout the first decades of the twenty-first century. The mainstream media branded us as ‘terrorists,’ but we exposed GDI as the real criminals. They unilaterally redrew international border lines, relegating Nod followers into inhospitable Yellow Zones while they claimed the pristine and exclusive Blue Zones all for themselves.
Meanwhile, the Brotherhood champions the common people – the 80% of the world’s population that struggles to get by in Yellow Zones torn by war, wracked by poverty, and abandoned by GDI. Using Tiberium to fuel and fund our efforts, Nod works tirelessly to bring order from the chaos. We make the streets safe, distribute food to the hungry, provide emergency medical care, minister to those who feel a spiritual vacuum, and inspire hope in people who would otherwise have none.
GDI casts itself as the world’s guardian and savior, but they are neither. GDI is corrupt and unjust: 20% of the world’s population – the most wealthy people on the planet - live in the Blue Zones, consuming the majority of the world’s natural resources, wielding their vast military power to maintain the status quo by depriving the downtrodden of their god-given right to mine and exploit Tiberium.
The powerful oppress the weak in the hollow name of freedom and the only counter to GDI’s power is the Brotherhood. Nod meets strength with strength in the name of peace and progress. Nod is the only hope against GDI tyranny. Brotherhood… Unity… Peace.
SCRIN- Aliens
The third faction in Tiberium Wars is The Scrin. GDI refers to them simply as The Aliens, while Nod calls them The Visitors. The Scrin campaign is unlocked once both the GDI and Nod single-player campaigns are complete.
The Scrin are the alien faction. Midway through the Nod and GDI campaigns, they invade Earth, for reasons unknown (most speculation has them doing it at the behest of another alien race, however). They are fully playable in skirmish matches as well as online play, and their arsenal features a mix of high-tech units and sheer power. And features quite a few stunningly powerful units and structures that make their way to the battlefield once the game unfolds.
Blue Zones -> Blue Zones are pristine areas, home to the last refuge of western civilization. They have minimal Tiberium outbreaks and remain relatively unscarred by war. They see all of Tiberium's resource benefits but none of its downsides. The Tiberium found in Blue Zones is much more condensed in volume than that in other zones, but the GDI does a fairly good job of ensuring that it doesn't spread.
Yellow Zones -> Tiberium can be found growing in a lot of different areas throughout Yellow Zones, which encompass 50% of the earth's surface and house 80% of the world's population. The Tiberium in Yellow Zones has made a mess of nature's ecological balances: many areas are "drought-ridden wastelands with cities that are slowly decaying." The social order has essentially collapsed in these areas.
Yellow Zones are where much of the fighting goes on: Nod has a heavy presence, and Tiberium is readily accessible but hasn't completely overrun the area.
Tiberium "glaciers" in the heart of a Red Zone.
Red Zones ->Red Zones are toxic the wastelands of the planet, areas that do not support any form of life. In areas designated as Red Zones, Tiberium is pervasive and can be found welling-up out of the ground in huge crystalline formations, almost like glaciers. Ion storms frequently form in Red Zones, complete with lightning blasts that discharge into the ground and winds of horrifying velocities. It is even dangerous to get near an area designated as a Red Zone.

Tiberium Wars: Tiberium
Tiberium stands at the center and everything and everyone in the universe is defined by their relation to Tiberium. It is described as being the "central unifying element" throughout the World.
Tiberium Story
Tiberium is not just a catalyst for a global war that has gone on for 30 years, but also an environmental disaster and a scientific curisoity. Its origins are at this time unknown: some think that it is actually a terraforming agent planted on Earth by an alien civilization that is gradually transforming the planet into a world that aliens might someday live in; some think that it is a weapon - a substance that an alien civilization dropped in on us that is just going to kill us off after some period of time.
The Global Defense Initiative (GDI) regards Tiberium with mixed views. On one hand, it is a highly hazardous substance that has been adversely affecting the planet's environment for years and has led to multiple wars and the impoverishment of billions. They thus ostensibly seek to eliminate it, or at least significantly contain its spread. At the same time, however, it is their primary, seemingly never-ending resource and has powered a new wave of modern technological advances. For the GDI, Tiberium is a blessing and a curse.
The Brotherhood of Nod, however, regards Tiberium with less ambiguity. The substance serves not only as Nod's primary resource but also as their spiritual catalyst. Nod sees Tiberium as key to the transformation that will literally take humans to the next plane of evolution.
Tiberium, The Substance
Technically, Tiberium is known to be a self-replicating substance, meaning simply that anything it touches in turns into more of itself. This process involves changing the elemental makeup of surrounding substances by breaking them down and absorbing some of the products, allowing Tiberium to spread. Curiously, water seems to accelerate Tiberium's spread and the rate at which it converts other matter into itself. The reasons for this are unknown.
To limit Tiberium's effects, the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod have both developed heavily-armored Tiberium-resistant materials. Additionally, GDI has developed what is known as sonic resonance, a technique by which Tiberium growth can be inhibited through the use of high intensity sound waves at a specific frequency. The power demands of this sophisticated technology are astronomical however, and it has not yet been developed for use with vehicles or infantry on the battlefield.
GDI harvester gathering Tiberium.
Tiberium Wars, Tiberium is the basis of your economy: whether GDI or Nod. features a familiar resource management system.
Tiberium is however a very persistent substance. Thus, even if you mine out an entire Tiberium field, it will slowly regrow.
It is also worth noting that infantry units are vulnerable to Tiberium, as they always have been, due to its toxic and hazardous nature. Certain units, however, such as the GDI Zone Trooper, are resistant to its effects, as they utilize GDI and Nod's Tiberium-resistant technologies.
ok, you have alot of background info in your mind, now..... aka, Battles are short and Drama is huge in a nut shell-
